MetaTrader 5
MT5 is a multi-asset trading platform that enables traders to trade forex, stocks, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrencies from a single account. It offers advanced tools for comprehensive market analysis, algorithmic trading, and copy trading, catering to both novice and experienced traders.
Developed as the next generation of the MetaTrader platform, MT5 expands on MT4’s capabilities with additional asset classes, more analytical tools, extra order types, and enhanced functionality.
Multi-asset platform
Trade a diverse range of financial instruments, including forex, commodities and metals, stocks, indices, and cryptocurrencies, all from one unified platform. Managing different asset classes in one place reduces the need to switch between multiple platforms or trading accounts while retaining access to over 128,000 global trading instruments according to MetaQuotes.
Advanced analysis tools
MetaTrader 5 introduces over 80 built-in technical indicators* and analytical tools, allowing traders to analyze trends, momentum, market strength, and volatility. The platform also offers 21 timeframes, compared to only nine on MT4, which provides greater analytical flexibility for short- and longer-term market movements.

Automated trading
MT5 includes a complete environment for developing and testing automated trading strategies. Traders can create or import Expert Advisors (EAs) using the built-in MetaEditor and MQL5 programming language. Traders can even backtest strategies against historical market data using the Strategy Tester before deploying automated strategies via virtual hosting, reducing the need to keep a personal device online constantly.
Copy trading
Traders can use the MetaTrader Signals service, offering insight into signal providers based on performance history and other trading metrics. After subscribing to a provider, eligible trades can be replicated automatically within a trader’s account, with copying parameters configured based on the subscriber’s account and settings.

Mobile Trading on the MT5 App
The MetaTrader 5 mobile app allows traders to monitor markets, analyze charts, manage positions, and place trades while away from their desktop. It’s available for both iOS and Android devices, allowing traders access to core features of the platform where the service is available.
Who MetaTrader 5 is suited for?
MetaTrader 5 is well-suited to traders that are looking to access multiple financial markets through a single platform while also benefiting from advanced charting and analytical tools. It offers a larger selection of features than MT4, appealing to traders interested in algorithmic trading, detailed technical analysis, or multi-asset portfolios.
MT5 provides access to a range of financial products, including leveraged CFDs, which carry a high degree of risk. Margin trading may amplify both profits and losses and is not suitable for every trader. Before trading CFDs, traders must understand the risk involved and consider whether these products align with their own financial objectives and personal risk tolerance.
What markets can traders access?
The MetaTrader 5 platform offers traders access to a wide range of global CFD markets. Traders can take positions in forex, CFD shares, indices, commodities and metals, and cryptocurrency CFDs on MT5. By being able to access all of these markets on one platform, traders have a simplified method of managing assets without needing to change trading environments.
Available markets may vary depending on a trader’s jurisdiction and account type.
